Gidia Oaks Limited was incorporated in London on 9 December 2020, at a time when the importance of resilient digital infrastructure had become unmistakable. Across emerging markets, economies were confronting the extent to which commerce, healthcare, education and public services relied on data centres, networks and power systems that were often externally owned and operated.

The company was established on a clear belief: the critical infrastructure a country depends on should be developed, owned and operated close to the communities and businesses it serves. Our founders had experienced this challenge from both perspectives, delivering engineering and construction programmes in complex environments, while also seeing digital-infrastructure projects delayed or undermined because responsibility for the facility, hardware, software and operations was fragmented among parties with misaligned incentives.

Gidia Oaks was therefore intentionally built as a single, accountable infrastructure company rather than a conventional contractor. We design and construct the facility, manufacture the compute hardware deployed within it, develop the software required to manage both, and operate the asset throughout the contract term, or transfer operations to the client where required. This integrated model reduces the handover points and accountability gaps through which infrastructure programmes commonly encounter delays, cost overruns and operational failures.

Our early years focused on establishing the foundations for long-term delivery. This included incorporating the UK holding company and Nigerian operating subsidiary; building a capable engineering and operations team; securing strategic land and grid positions; and developing a proprietary technology stack rather than relying on third-party licences. That stack includes the GO-CN48-32-2T open-source RISC-V compute node; SteadGrid, our facilities and operations platform; GOCLIMS, our tenant and billing management system; and PairFlex and IndexFlex, which support tradable capacity.
